(Gould 1999) Meira Levinson, in her overview of contemporary liberal theory, offers an account similar to Gould’s, but adds as a further liberal commitment: ‘An acceptance – and more rarely, an embracing – of the fact of deep and irremediable pluralism in modern society’ (Levinson 1999: 9).
